COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says a 43-year-old man has been arrested on five charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors.

Derrick Vaughn Nielsen is accused of distributing files of child sexual abuse material.

Nielsen was arrested on Wednesday, October 22, by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators along with the Sumter Police Department.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Nielsen.

He is charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, (second degree) which is a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count.
