Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said Friday that countries cannot violate another nation’s sovereignty or constitution in the name of fighting drug trafficking.

Speaking to reporters in Jakarta, Indonesia, after a meeting with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Lula was responding to comments by Trump, who recently said Latin American drug cartels were the ISIS of the Western hemisphere.

“You can't just say you're going to invade and fight drug trafficking in other people's land without taking into account the constitution of other countries,” Lula said.

Lula added that he intends to raise the issue with Trump during their in-person meeting on Sunday in Malaysia.

"I hope that if President Trump wants to discuss this matter with me, I would be immensely pleased to discuss it with him."

The U.S. military has conducted its 10th strike on a suspected drug-running boat, killing six more people in the Caribbean, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Friday.

Hegseth blamed Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang.

In a 20-second black and white video of the strike posted to social media, a small boat can be seen apparently sitting motionless on the water when a long thin projectile descends on it, triggering an explosion.
