Jeptha Abbott DAR members work at Old Eagle School Burial Ground

The Jeptha Abbott Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution said that it recently held a chapter meeting featuring guest speaker Robert F. Smith, provost of Valley Forge Military College, who talked about the history of the American flag, according to the chapter.

During the meeting, the oath of membership was formally administered to new members Kaylin Magosin and Kristen Magosin.

Chapter participants collected school supplies and gifts for the New Foundation, an organization that supports schools and ministries in Haiti.

In observance of the 135th anniversary of the founding of national chapter, established on Oct. 11, 1890, chapter members participated in a day of service devoted to cemetery preservation at the historic Old Eagle Sch
