LOUISVILLE, Ky. — President Donald Trump has halted trade talks with Canada. In a social media post late Thursday night, the president said he made that decision after seeing a television ad he took issue with. The Canadian advertisement used snippets of a speech from former president Ronald Reagan discussing his decision to impose tariffs on Japan.

“This is the kind of thing where Trump’s chaos, his inability to see who are allies and who are not our allies, is hurting American workers. It’s hurting everybody right here in Kentucky,” said Rep. Morgan McGarvey, D-Louisville.

McGarvey believes this latest deterioration of trade talks will hurt several Kentucky industries, including bourbon.
