BETHPAGE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man in Sumner County is facing charges for allegedly shooting and killing his cousin on Tuesday, according to an arrest affidavit.
Deputies with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kenneth Doyle Phillips, 53, on a charge of criminal homicide.
Phillips is accused of shooting his cousin, James Purnell Brinkley Sr., during a fight on Rogana Road in Bethpage. First responders attempted to save Brinkley, but were unsuccessful.

The arrest affidavit states that deputies responded to the incident to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest, his right shoulder and his buttocks.
