The price to renew or get a concealed carry weapon permit in Fresno County will go up after the change got its second reading Tuesday at the Board of Supervisors.
A new CCW permit in Fresno County will now cost $297 while the renewal will cost $136 beginning Nov. 19, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Those increases represent a $78 increase and a $53 increase, respectively. However, changing an address or adding and removing a firearm remains $10.
First Increase Since 2007
The county last increased the price for the permit in 2007. Since then, the volume and complexity of permit processing has increased as California laws have changed, the sheriff’s office stated.
New laws since then include background checks, administrative fees, and staffing needs, the release stated.
