One of the three family members who were rescued from an island off the Massachusetts coast on Wednesday has died, according to her son.
Cici Sullivan died from injuries she sustained when she, her husband Patrick Sullivan, and their son, Tyler Sullivan, jumped from a burning boat on Monday and swam to Naushon Island, according to a GoFundMe posted on Facebook by her son, Chris Sullivan.
“My mom passed last night,” Sullivan wrote in the Facebook post that featured the GoFundMe link. “She went in peace. We played her some John Mellencamp as she passed, he was her absolute favorite, she adored him.”
The son’s father is awake and breathing on his own, Sullivan wrote.
