RED LODGE, Mont.- Red Lodge Mountain has conducted an investigation into a lift incident that resulted in the fatality of a guest last Spring.
According to Red Lodge, they have added redundant safety measures to the Triple Chair by utilizing independent experts, professional weather forecasters and structural engineers.
Additionally, the lift towers have been reinforced to reduce the effect of wind on the towers and the haul rope. Anemometers will also be installed on various elevations along the lift line, which will offer real-time recording of the wind speed on the Triple Chair.
All lifts, including the Triple Chair, underwent a thorough third-party inspection during the off season to ensure they meet all of Montana's operating standards.
