HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. — Investigators are still working to determine the exact circumstances behind why a Middle Tennessee explosives manufacturing plant exploded two weeks ago, saying two of the sixteen people killed in the blast have yet to be located.
On Friday, Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis gave an update on the investigation, saying they've been communicating with the families of the two victims who are still missing.
“It really saddens me that we still have two souls that we have not been able to locate at this point,” Davis said.
According to investigators, crews are still working to determine why roughly 28,000 pounds of high explosives went off at a building at Accurate Energetic Systems' campus, which sits along the Humphreys County and Hickman County line.
