Fairmont State was the last Mountain East Conference football team to beat the University of Charleston before a 24-month-long conference winning streak that concluded last week.

The Golden Eagles hope to begin another one on Saturday against the Fighting Falcons, while West Virginia State breaks from league play for a week to test itself in the Sunshine State.

Coming off a 32-30 setback in triple overtime to Frostburg State last Saturday, the Golden Eagles (4-3, 3-1 MEC) are back at it Saturday. Meanwhile, the Fighting Falcons (4-3, 1-3) knocked off Edinboro (Pennsylvania) 35-30.

Charleston quarterback Ean Hamric leads the Golden Eagles in both passing (1,140 yards, 13 touchdowns, three interceptions) and rushing (480 yards, four TDs).
