LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The Las Vegas branch of the FBI and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are working to fight violent crime in the valley.
Law enforcement announced a new billboard campaign encouraging people to tip off officials about violent crime.
LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill was joined by Special Agent Christopher Delzotto as well as the president of Clear Channel Outdoor. McMahill thanked the officers in the community every day who help keep people safe.
He says violent crime overall is down this year. McMahill pointed to some facts, saying there have only been four officer-involved shootings, compared to 12 last year in Metro’s jurisdiction. He also says homicides are down 30 percent.
