Purdue rolled out its preseason No. 1 ranking in an exhibition game against No. 9 Kentucky on Friday and got rolled over 78-65 at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

Trey Kauffman-Renn led three Boilermakers in double-figure scoring with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting. Homestead graduate Fletcher Loyer added 14 points (3-of-15 shooting, 2 of 8 on 3-pointers) and Braden Smith had 11 (3-of-9 shooting) with five assists.

Purdue shot 38.6% (22 of 57) from the floor and 17.6% (3 of 17) on 3-pointers. The Boilers were outrebounded 42-20 and Kentucky had a 17-12 edge in assists. The Boilers had seven turnovers while the Wildcats had nine.
