On Oct. 14, Santa Maria Mayor Alice Patino, City Manager David Rowlands and multiple department heads spoke about downtown revitalization, efforts to expand the City’s boundaries and infrastructure, new parks, budget challenges, and more at the annual State of the City event .

Held at the Patty Boyd Theater on the campus of Allan Hancock College, the event gave the public the opportunity to learn more about the opportunities and pressures facing the city to keep pace with a projected increase in population and associated infrastructure demands.

For members of the public who were unable to attend, or who would like to take a closer look at comments from local leaders, the City has made a recording of the event available in both English and Spanish .
