Clinging to a one-goal lead in a third period where they were outshot badly, Brantford held on and deposited a late empty-net goal to score a 3-1 win. Article content Article content
The Bulldogs remain undefeated in regulation, improving to 9-0-1-1. The Sting fall to 4-5-2-0.
Brantford’s Sam McCue opened the scoring in the first period when he potted his seventh of the season. Adam Jiricek then got his third of the season in the second, on a power play, to make it 2-0 for the visitors.
In the third, Ben Pickell scored for the Sting to make it a one-goal game before Cooper Dennis got his fifth of the year into an empty net.
