A teenager killed in a boating incident in regional Western Australia is being remembered as a “beautiful and fascinating young man”.

Joseph French, 15, died near the southwest town of Bunbury when a small boat capsized on October 3.

In an online fundraiser, a family friend says one of Joseph’s parents is a local paramedic.

In a statement, the teen’s family say their son was a “beautiful and fascinating young man”.

“We have been upheld by your prayers and your support over the last week, we can hardly comprehend,,” the family said.

“We are now making plans to remember and celebrate Joseph’s time with us. A beautiful and fascinating young man created by God himself.”
