LEXINGTON, Ky. —

The No. 9 Kentucky Wildcats came away with a win over No. 1 Purdue in an exhibition game Friday night.

Kentucky beat the Boilermakers 78-65 at Rupp Arena.

Freshman Jasper Johnson was the offensive star for Kentucky, notching 15 points in his first game as a Wildcat. Johnson had some help from key returners Otega Oweh and Trent Noah, who both finished with 10 points each.

Every Wildcat, minus Braydon Hawthorne, who only saw the court for four seconds, scored against Purdue.

As a team, the Wildcats shot 49% from the field and made nine of 29 from behind the arc. Kentucky also didn't fare well at the charity stripe, making nine of 13 free throws.
