WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Four people were hospitalized after a shooting near Howard University on Friday, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFEMS).
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to shots being fired in the area of Georgia Avenue and Howard Place around 8:30 p.m.
Police said the following roads are closed to both pedestrians and traffic until further notice: • 2300 through 2500 blocks of Georgia Ave NW • 700 through 800 blocks of Barry Pl NW • 600 block of Howard Pl NW • 2300 block of 6th St NW
Bus services have been rerouted in the meantime, according to DCFEMS.
Police said the scene is secure, and traffic is asked to follow officers' instructions.
