MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A group of citizens helped multiple rescue agencies in their search effort to find 67-year-old Alan Johnson.
Johnson was reported missing Monday evening and found Tuesday afternoon.
Dane County Sheriff’s Office said that their office worked alongside Deforest Police and Fire as well as a commercial drone operator to find Johnson.
Additionally, officers said that 50 people volunteered on a cold and rainy day to search for the man on foot.
By 4 p.m. the next day, the sheriff’s office found Johnson in a marshy area. They said he was suffering from hypothermia, but was alive.
“The way our community came together with our deputies to find Mr. Johnson is truly heartwarming, and a testament to the outstanding citizens we have here in Dane County,” said Sheriff Kalvin B
