Satara: The 26-year-old woman doctor in Maharashtra’s Satara district, who died by suicide earlier this week, has left behind a four-page letter that paints a disturbing picture of corruption, harassment and abuse of power. The medical officer, posted at the Phaltan sub-district hospital, accused Sub-Inspector Gopal Badne of raping her four times and subjecting her to months of mental and physical torture. She also alleged that police officials and even a Member of Parliament along with his aides, pressured her to issue fake fitness certificates to accused individuals who were never medically examined.
