MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Three years after Memphis firefighter David Pleasant was killed while responding to a call, his daughters faced the drunk driver responsible for the fatal crash.
Maurice Yarbrough was intoxicated on Aug. 10, 2022, when he ran a red light and slammed into Pleasant's fire truck at Crump and Danny Thomas.
The crash killed the 32-year fire department veteran and injured three others.
Thursday, Yarbrough was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide - intoxication and three counts of aggravated assault-reckless.
