A Panchkula businessman was allegedly robbed of Rs 8.50 lakh in cash by a group of unidentified assailants near the Hallo Majra light point on Tuesday evening, police said on Friday.

In a separate incident the same day, the Chandigarh Police arrested four accused for attacking and looting a woman in Manimajra, as part of their ongoing crackdown on street crimes and robberies across the city.

In the first case, registered at the Mauli Jagran police station, complainant Ankush Goyal, a businessman from Panchkula , reported that around 7.30 pm on October 22, while driving towards Mauli Jagran, his car was hit by a black Thar vehicle with 3-4 unidentified occupants. The assailants allegedly got down, assaulted him, and snatched Rs 8.50 lakh in cash before fleeing the scene, he alleged.
