A home in Edmond suffered significant damage following an early morning fire, possibly caused by lightning.

The Edmond Fire Department says crews arrived on the scene near East 2nd and Midwest Boulevard and found heavy smoke coming from the home.

The homeowners told firefighters they believe a lightning strike started the fire, but it is still unclear what sparked the flames.

Everyone was outside of the home by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

No injuries were reported.
