Police have uncovered what they allege is a cache of fake police badges and replica firearms during a raid on a property in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
A Double Bay man has been arrested and will front court on Saturday, with police alleging he was found in possession of multiple fake law enforcement badges and identification cards.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) began investigating the man when a member of the public last month handed in a federal police badge and an ID at Bondi Police Station.
Police alleged that small traces of cocaine were found on the ID card.
Officers executed a search warrant on the 50-year-old’s Double Bay property on Friday, allegedly locating hats and shirts with AFP insignia.
