MILWAUKEE -- Coaches will often say you learn more from a loss than a win. That makes Friday's game pretty valuable for Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard.
The Badgers just narrowly lost to Oklahoma at Fiserv Forum, 84-83. Wisconsin's starting five had the majority of the playing time, giving Gard a good look at what he'll be working with this year. The best part? The game didn't even count because it was an exhibition.
Junior guard John Blackwell, who will likely be the go-to guy for the Badgers this year, played almost the entire game and scored 20 points, leading all scorers. He also grabbed 5 rebounds, including 3 offensive rebounds, while committing just 1 turnover.
The Badgers also saw a good scoring night from newcomer guard Nick Boyd, who transferred to Madison from San Diego State.
