A wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 8:47 p.m. in effect until 11 p.m. for Lower Columbia Basin of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.
“Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected,” explains the weather service. “A period of gusty winds is expected to accompany a cold frontal passage this evening, with otherwise lighter winds today.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” explains the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
