Bhubaneswar: As Cyclone Montha continues to develop over the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall, wind, and sea condition warnings for several coastal states, including Odisha.
According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, the well-marked low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal moved westward during the past six hours and lay over the same region at 11:30 pm on October 24. The system intensified into a depression over the southeast and adjoining central Bay of Bengal on October 25.
It is likely to strengthen into a deep depression by October 26 and further intensify into a cyclonic storm over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by October 27 morning, the IMD said.
