RIVERDALE, Utah (ABC4) — Northern Utah's first Trader Joe's opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 24 at 9 a.m. in Riverdale.
The new store is at 4060 S Riverdale, and it is nearly 10,000 square feet in size, at 9,248 square feet. Trader Joe's typically hires from the communities it opens stores in, and for the Riverdale Store, it hired more than 70 people from the areas around Riverdale and Ogden.
Trader Joe's also runs what is called the Neighborhood Shares Programs, and as a part of that program, they donate all unsold but still good products to community-based non-profit organizations. The Riverdale-Ogden store will also participate in this program, seven days a week.
