India captain Shubman Gill missed out on a golden chance to get rid of in-form Australia batter Matt Short cheaply during the second ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. Short was yet to open his account when a mix-up with captain Mitchell Marsh saw him making a desperate dive at the non-striker’s end to save himself from being run out.
Midway through the fourth over of Mohammed Siraj, innings’ ninth, Short, who had just walked in following the dismissal of opener Travis Head, tried getting off the mark following a misfield at short cover.
