WASHINGTON STATE – The Washington State Department of Health announced it received additional funding from the US Department of Agriculture. This funding is aimed at sustaining the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program through mid to late November.

The allocation will ensure the continuation of food benefits and support the current 11-member administrative team. However, the department noted that if WIC redemption rates increase, the funding could be exhausted sooner than anticipated.

This development is significant for families relying on WIC benefits across Washington State. The department emphasized the importance of the program in supporting nutrition for women, infants and children in the community.
