EUGENE — Oregon dominated the paint, the glass and capitalized on turnovers against a much smaller and less athletic Utah.
Nate Bittle had 20 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks and Ege Demir had 14 points and five rebounds to lead the Ducks in a 73-53 exhibition win over the Utes on Friday night in front of 6,893 at Matthew Knight Arena.
“We thought we had a big advantage going in and we did inside,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “Obviously, we didn’t shoot the ball real well from the perimeter in the first half. Had some good looks — a few of them were off-balance. When we moved the ball, I thought we got some pretty good things."
Wei Lin had 10 points and four assists as UO’s primary point guard while Jackson Shelstad is out with a right hand injury.
