Not every win is a work of art.
Coming off a solid shutout win the night before, the Windsor Spitfires were sluggish, but rallied for a 4-3 shootout win over the Owen Sound Attack at the WFCU Centre on Friday.
“I didn’t think we played our best hockey, but good teams find a way to win and we pulled through,” said Spitfires’ forward Cole Davis, who scored the tying goal on a late Windsor power play and scored the only goal in the shootout.
Let’s put it in perspective
The Spitfires held their own in the opening period, but the Attack carried the play through the final two periods and overtime.
“For me, it was probably one of the worst games we’ve played as a team,” Spitfires’ head coach Greg Walters said. “Credit to (the Attack), they worked extremely hard, but we didn’t manage the puck
