A fierce 13-point offensive push in the fourth quarter by Middletown football on Friday fell just short on a missed field goal, as the Blue Raiders fell to Trinity 28-27.
The Shamrocks’ Mason Boyer recorded three touchdowns – two through the air and one on the ground. Maddox Jarzynski pulled in both end zone passes from Boyer – a 14-yarder and a 24-yarder with 10:56 left in the fourth to secure crucial insurance points for Trinity.
Harrison Ortiz and Nickayus Zenon powered Middletown’s offense, as the Blue Raider quarterback/wide receiver duo accounted for three touchdowns. All three of Ortiz’s passes to Zenon were for at least 50 yards – the longest being an 89-yard catch, dash and score with 9:11 left in the first.
