Haverford’s cross country team will have a sizeable contingent heading to the state championships.
Teddy Foster finished fifth overall at the District 1 Class 3A Championships Friday, and the Fords finished fifth as a team to grab a states spot.
Foster clocked in at 15 minutes, 19.1 seconds at Lehigh University’s Goodman Campus course, within 21 seconds of the lead. Lower Merion’s twin duo of Alexander Mazzeo and Nicholas Mazzeo went first and second, Alexander winning in 14:58.5.
Foster will be joined at states by Sean Lawson, who finished 20th in 15:48.7, and Ryan Cleary, who went 15:52.7 to finish 22nd. North Penn won the team title with 99 points, and Haverford scored 247 to finish fifth and grab one of six team spots.
