The Maharashtra Police on Saturday arrested Prashant Bankar, one of the two accused in connection with the suicide of a 29-year-old woman doctor in Phaltan taluka, Satara district. Bankar, the son of the doctor’s landlord, will be produced before the court on Saturday, Satara Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi told ANI.
The second accused, Phaltan City police sub-inspector (PSI) Gopal Badane, remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him. Badane has been suspended from duty.
According to police, the victim, who was working as a medical officer at a government hospital in Phaltan on a contractual basis, was found hanging in a hotel room on Thursday night.
