WOODLAND–Carter Oldemar hit a 28-yard go-ahead field goal with 2:52 remaining and the Mark Morris defense forced a decisive four-and-out as the Monarchs upset the Woodland Beavers 10-7 at Beaver Stadium Friday.
Aaron Ibarreta found Deker Bartell for a 52-yard touchdown to open the game and give Mark Morris an early lead. The Monarchs have won three of their last four games and are one game behind Woodland, Ridgefield and Columbia River in the 2A Greater St. Helens League.
Freshman Dayton Morris paced the Beavers with 94 rushing yards and a nine-yard receiving touchdown.
Daniel Kobayashi-Gallagher had a key goal line interception for Mark Morris to keep Woodland off the board at the end of the first half.
