Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown says his high-stakes comeback bid for a New Hampshire Senate seat against a member of the powerful Sununu family reminds him of 2010, when polls and pundits counted him out in Massachusetts and he stunned the political world.

“I’m used to being the underdog,” a rejuvenated Brown said in an interview, recalling the 2010 race for the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s seat – which Brown memorably called “the people’s seat.”

“That’s what it feels like right now.”

Only this time the closely-watched campaign will be a referendum on President Donald Trump, who Brown’s primary opponent John E. Sununu has called a “loser” who would bring down the GOP – a prediction he probably now regrets.
