Iam a third generation farmer in the towns of Alabama and Oakfield. I’ve worked this ground through good years and bad ones, and like a lot of local farmers, I’ve seen the cost of everything rise while our income barely keeps up. That’s why I’m asking our leaders — and my neighbors — to let the proposed Alabama Solar Park move forward.

For nearly 20 years, EDP Renewables has been working in our area. They started out with a wind project, but after listening to local feedback, proposed solar instead. Through it all, they’ve done things the right way — paying landowners fairly, keeping open communication with the community, and working with state and environmental agencies to meet every requirement.
