Two players from the Australian women's cricket team have allegedly been followed and harassed by a man in the Indian city of Indore.

The female players, who are in Indore for the ICC Women's World Cup, were on their way to a café when they were allegedly "approached and touched inappropriately" by a man on a motorbike, Cricket Australia confirmed in a statement.

"The matter was reported by team security to police who are handling the matter," a Cricket Australia spokesperson said.

CCTV circulating on Indian media outlets shows a man on a moped who may be connected to the incident.

A man has been arrested and is facing charges including stalking, according to The Time of India.
