KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Some much needed rain is moving through the area to start next week. We’ll get through much of the weekend relatively dry.

TODAY - The grey skies become thicker as we move into the afternoon for a partly sunny sky. A high in the mid to upper 60s and a light north wind will be the story of the day.

TONIGHT - We’re mostly cloudy tonight winds becoming calm and temperatures in the mid 40s.

SUNDAY - Rain moves closer to us on Sunday and can’t rule out some sprinkles and light rain showers here and there. Overall, the most of the rain activity will move through overnight into Monday morning. By the time we wake up on Monday morning we’ll have seen a quarter to half an inch of rain.
