Donna Lochmann, the chief life-saving officer at Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) , has devoted her life to saving animals in need. With hundreds of rescues behind her, she spends her days driving through the city, always on the lookout for stray or injured pets.
She also responds to numerous calls from concerned citizens reporting animals in danger. So, when a tip came in about a dog hiding among piles of garbage under a busy Missouri highway, Lochmann immediately set out to help.

The caller explained that they had passed the same area for several days and noticed the same dog lingering in the same spot each time.
When Lochmann arrived at the scene, however, there was no dog to be seen.
