In what can come as a massive blow for the Indian team, with just over a month left for the three-match ODI series against South Africa, the BCCI has declared that star batter Shreyas Iyer sustained an injury to his left rib cage during fielding in the third ODI against Australia.

The brilliant display of athleticism saw Australia’s wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey dismissed, but unfortunately, the moment did not end well for Iyer .
