WESTFIELD — Jillian Battles has kicked off her fifth year of gathering supplies for 800 care bags stuffed with personal care items, games and snacks to go to area troops and veterans, which she calls Bags for Bravery.

Battles is a freshman at Western New England University, studying health sciences with a minor in political science, after graduating from Westfield High School in June.
