SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- For some eager voters, this year's race for Syracuse mayor is going to be a gamble.

Literally.

BetOnline.ag, a Panama-based sportsbook, has the Syracuse Mayoral Election listed among its political bets. So one of the four candidates for mayor of Syracuse won't be the only winner on election night. Anyone who bets on the winning candidate wins too.

Democrat Sharon Owens is considered the odds-on favorite as of Friday evening, listed as -700. The three other candidates are ranked as long-shots.

If Owens wins, a $7 bet pays the money back plus $1. At +1000, Republican Tom Babilon's victory pays $11 for only a $1 bet.

Alfonso Davis is +800. Tim Rudd is +1200.
