As the global energy landscape shifts, Rajan Ahuja, Port Commissioner of Corpus Christi, Texas, is steering innovative projects to ensure the port remains at the forefront of sustainable energy solutions.

One of the most ambitious initiatives under his guidance involves underground storage in the Gulf waters off Texas.

“You always have to be ready for things to change because, as they say, change is constant,” Ahuja says.

Highlighting the evolving regulatory and environmental priorities, he adds, “Through the Infrastructure Reduction Act passed by President Biden, there’s a push to do carbon capture and underground storage. We have leased our acreage to a company if they wanted to do that.”
