Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting in east Houston, believed to have stemmed from a disagreement between cousins.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded around 2 a.m. Saturday morning after a witness reported a shooting in progress at a home in the 3500 block of Russell Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man, who was in his early 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials believe the incident began as an argument between the victim and his cousin, who had been driving him home. The disagreement reportedly escalated during the drive and turned physical once the pair arrived at the residence.
During the altercation, the victim was shot once, resulting in his death.
