A FLOOD WATCH is in effect for areas south and east of DFW until Saturday evening.

There is another chance for storms by Saturday afternoon. While the overall severe weather threat is low, some storms could contain damaging winds and small hail.

RAIN IS NEEDED TO HOLD OFF SEVERE DROUGHT

October is normally our second‑wettest month of the year — averaging just over four inches of rain at DFW International Airport.

This is much-needed moisture, with many locations across the area experiencing abnormally dry, moderate or severe drought conditions.
