June and DuWayne Juaire raised five kids in a trailer home on two acres on Smith Road. Then, they built a house from lumber DuWayne cut on his sawmill. Today that house is set for an extreme makeover. Yesterday, June cashed in a lottery ticket worth $853,492. “We didn’t sleep all weekend,” June said.

30 years ago (1995)

There weren’t just low temperatures outside yesterday. A new boiler used to heat Franklin Junior High wasn’t working and students had to wear their jackets in the classrooms. Principal Carol Munns said the boiler was missing critical parts but was back in operation by noon.
