Massachusetts trick-or-treaters should prepare themselves for a dark and stormy night on Halloween — or at least a rainy one.
The National Weather Service is predicting a 40% to 50% chance of rain for much of the second half of the week, including Halloween night on Friday, based on areas low pressure off of the coast and especially in the Central U.S. near Missouri.
“On Thursday into Friday, there’s a possibility of seeing half-an-inch to an inch of rainfall across the state,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Matthew Belk. “As you get into Friday and into Saturday, there will be a little more depending on where that low from the Central U.S. tracks.”
That rain may be accompanied by 10 to 15 mph winds with gusts of 20 to 25 mph from the West.
The storm won’t be a “nor’east
