New London police are investigating after the operator of a dirt bike was injured in a crash Friday evening, officials said .

On Friday around 7:33 p.m., New London police and firefighters responded to the area of Broad Street and Center Street for a reported accident involving a dirt bike and motor vehicle, according to the New London Police Department .

Upon arrival, police said the operator of the dirt bike appeared injured in the roadway. The man was subsequently transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
