A charity has said progress on child poverty in Scotland is "nowhere near enough" as thousands marched through Edinburgh to demand action.

The Scotland Demands Better demonstration was organised by trade unions and charities in an effort to push for more action on poverty ahead of the UK Budget and next year's Scottish Parliament elections.

They have called for improvements in social security, better jobs and more investment in areas such as housing and transport.

Crowds gathered outside Holyrood on Saturday, October 25, holding placards and signs as they marched through the city towards a rally at the Meadows.
